Are We Trustworthy?

Devotional for Saturday, February 10, 2018
This devotional is brought to you by Pacific Press® Publishing Association.

Once I sat on a plane next to an off-duty airline pilot. We were talking about a pilot's skill in flying these incredible machines, when he commented, "We only promise to get you down." After a pause, I said, "Thank you very much, I appreciate that" Is an airline pilot trustworthy? Yes. However, the pilot can't 100 percent promise you a safe landing. Knowing this risk, we trust the pilot and fly anyway.

Is Jesus trustworthy? "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). Are we trustworthy? Trustworthiness is what people recognize in us when our talk matches our walk. We are truthful. Trustworthiness is a by-product of our faithfulness.
