So often, when we're in a difficult situation, we become wary. We close in, reluctant to share the little we have with others. Whether it's money, space, time, or emotions we reason, "I have hardly any left for myself, I can't afford to share." There will be times in our lives when God challenges us, "If you respond with generousity to the needs of others, I'll supply your needs. Trust Me. Take a chance."
If you live with a mentality of abundance, then you truly believe the Bible promise that "My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4:19). He did it for the widow of Zarephath. Every day she went back and checked her jar of flour and her jug of oil, and each day, miraculously, there was just enough to make one more loaf of bread for herself, her son, and Elijah. If you feel you're running out of resources, trust God. He may challenge you to share with someone else. That may be the very path He uses to meet all your needs.
