When you pray, do not pray, "Oh, God, please give me the victory." There are some who pray that prayer for weeks, months, years, without seeing the victory. Pray rather, "Dear Lord, I know that Your power is in my life. I praise You for the victory already given me. I praise You for enabling me to be victorious through You today and in the future. I believe that what You say is so, I accept it as so, and I praise You for making it so in my life." Stop pleading and start praising.
Many people struggle in defeat but never claim the victory already provided. Remember this - Christ has already conquered. The victory comes as I lay my sins at His feet, claim the victory that He achieved over Satan, and reach out for the clean slate that He claims for me before the throne of God. All victory comes by faith in the power of the resurrected Christ to strengthen me. My mind is not on my weakness. My mind is on the power of Christ. This is the key to victory. The Word of God declares in 1 Corinthians 15:57, "Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." God has given us the victory. Let's thank Him!
