About Chapel^® Music

Chapel^® began as a recording studio in Mountain View California. In its early days, Chapel^® Music was a full-service recording studio. Prior to moving to Idaho in 1984, Chapel^® Music limited its operations to distribution of completed works.

Today Chapel^®, like many in the music industry, has seen a dramatic decline in sales since streaming services became more popular. However, Chapel^® still accepts physical CDs and DVDs to distribute through Adventist Book Centers in the United States, Canada, Bermuda, and Guam. Chapel^® does not offer any recording services.

Submission Guidelines

The Chapel^® Audition Committee meets sometime between the middle of December and the end of January to review finished products received since the previous meeting. The committee will review submissions that meet the following criteria:

If this criterion is not met, your submission will not be brought to the committee for review

• Artist must agree to provide completed works at sixty percent (60%) distributor discount off the lowest retail price. For single CDs, the retail price will not exceed $9.98. For double CDs, the retail price will not exceed $15.98.
   
• Artist agrees to ship all products FOB (artist pays shipping and assumes risk of loss or damage during shipping) to Chapel® Music’s Nampa, Idaho address.
   
• Artist agrees to not sell directly to any Adventist Book Center operating within the United States, Canada, Bermuda, or Guam.
   
• The music is suitable for the Chapel® Music market. The Chapel® Music market is primarily walk-in traffic to Adventist Book Centers and those browsing for music on AdventistBookCenter.com. This includes lyrics that are consistent with Seventh-day Adventist beliefs.
   
• Overall production quality is professional
   
• Must sign the agreement form (provided after acceptance) that will grant Pacific Press Publishing Association and affiliated Adventist Book Centers the rights to use album artwork in print, online, or broadcast for promotional purposes.
   
• The cover of the CDs reflects the artist and the type of music. As we believe our market is primarily walk-in traffic, the front-cover your work should represent the work itself.
   
  Example: If the work is vocal, but the cover illustration is an instrument, the committee will consider this misleading to customers.

Helpful Elements

While not required, these will improve the likelihood of the Chapel^® Audition Committee accepting your work.

• Your product is available for immediate shipping (typical minimum order would be 300 CDs)
• You and/or your music is known. Having a concert schedule or having songs that are well known, will influence the committee in favor of your work.
• You have letters of recommendation for your musical performance and/or music ministry.
• You have already established a relationship with Chapel® Music.
