 2018-06-26Only Jesus

This is the kingdom of heaven: to live in relationship with Jesus. . . . It's all about Christ. Both the "reaching" and the "teaching" components of "the everyday commission" must always, only, be all about Christ.

This is our mission: Lift up Jesus. We must stay close to Jesus for everything we need in order to be effective witnesses for Him. Then, of course, we must stay close to unbelievers for opportunities to share Jesus. And finally, we must stay close to believers so we can encourage one another in Jesus.

 2018-06-25Christ's Example

We witness the life of Christ at the cross of Calvary--the grand monument of mercy and regeneration, salvation and redemption--when the Son of God was lifted up on the cross. Ellen White says, "The sacrifice of Christ as an atonement for sin is the great truth around which all other truths cluster. In order to be rightly understood and appreciated, every truth in the word of God, from Genesis to Revelation, must be studied in the light that streams from the cross of Calvary." The cross of Calvary is crucial for Christians not only for Christ's death and resurrection, which are the core values of the plan of salvation, but more so for how He lived His life. As His children and His disciples, we must emulate Christ's life.

Jesus lived His life as a humble servant. Therefore, the bottom line of the Christian journey is to be servants of God, by serving His people, not just the "chosen" within the walls of the church building, but by being His disciples outside the walls of the church.
